Long answer

Design education always lags behind design practice. The profession has moved way beyond what is being taught in any design school on any given day, almost anywhere in the world. So what do you do as a fresh graduate? First, go out and get as many different kinds of experience as possible. You will find that there are certain aspects of design that you are drawn to more than others. On spotting talent, a portfolio tells you little at this stage. What matters is the level of participation, who is actually interested in this kind of career. You are way too young to have any meaningful body of work. What counts is genuine curiosity and showing up. And with AI, think about three boxes: tasks you want to fully automate, tasks where you want AI to assist, and tasks you want to fully own yourself.
